To give you an idea of the value received for the dollar spent. I used the original Foredom I purchased in 1978 until 1995 and then gave it to my nephew. I had to have the sleeve bearings replaced one time. Other than this it has preformed excellent. All Foredom power tools now have ball bearing motors so I assure you that you will have many years of trouble free use should you decide to purchase a Foredom Power Tool for your shop.
